All persons who provide bricks or make donations will receive a special invitation to attend this ceremony. If you are interested in honoring a loved one, please visit the Serenity Garden website or visit the garden’s kiosk.Įach spring and fall, a brick dedication service will be held to recognize the contribution of engraved bricks. The Serenity Garden is supported through the sale of engraved bricks which honor or memorialize friends and/or families who have fought the ravages of cancer. The Serenity Garden was established through the generosity of many caring people and is maintained through community donations, the cooperation and support of the City of Waynesboro. The garden provides a tangible special place for people to reflect on the courage, dignity, and hope of those who have overcome this disease and those who have fought it so bravely, but lost. The garden honors the families, friends, and caregivers whose lives have been touched by cancer. We invite you to experience this beautiful gateway to nature, remembering the blessings of good health. Numerous plaques displayed in and around the garden explain the deep commitment from businesses, organizations, and individuals who believe in the fight against cancer. A grass path leads visitors down to the South River for those who want to sit and listen to the quiet ripple of the water.
Come ring the Peoples Bell three times to celebrate the end of treatments, to remember a loved one, or to bring hope for a cure for all.
